In industry news, Samsung has announced a new semiconductor research facility in Bangalore, India.

Samsung Semiconductor Research Institute India (SSIR) is now said to have a new R&D center to meet the company's growing demand for advanced infrastructure. It also demonstrates the company's commitment to expanding its presence in India.

According to Samsung's official website, the company has 8 production centers and 15 R&D centers worldwide. Of these, the production centers are concentrated in South Korea itself (4), followed by mainland China (3) and then the US (1). The distribution of R & D centers show decentralization, the number of the United States (5), China (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) (3), Israel (2), in addition to South Korea, the United Kingdom, India, Japan, Canada, each with 1 R & D center.

Looking back at Samsung's new R&D center in Bangalore, it has four floors with a modern, open layout, more than 60 meeting rooms, a fully equipped cafeteria, a dedicated nap room, a recreational area and medical facilities, among others.

Currently, SSIR employs around 4,500 people, with 700 more to be added in the future. These employees will include new hires and lateral employees from colleges and universities.
