In 2024, the utilization of advanced nodes for logic processors is expected to remain stable but relatively low, expected to be between 65% and -70%. Automotive MLCCS, resistors, sensors and connectors currently have some spot shortages, but overall demand is low. In response to rising production costs, most manufacturers have raised prices in 2023. Average selling prices are expected to remain stable throughout the year and not fall to previous levels. The chip shortage has spurred more than 80 new fab expansions in the semiconductor industry. Once fully operational later this year, these expansion projects will increase global wafer capacity by 6.4%(in 200mm equivalent terms). The main expansion trends in 2024 will focus on silicon carbide (SiC) products used in the automotive industry, and to a lesser extent gallium nitride products. It is predicted that the demand for SiC will increase by 35% in the next ten years. The excess volume of active ics will continue to grow in the first half of 2024, but is expected to begin to decrease in the second half of the year.
