Usage of non-automotive components is below normal

Open market activity is a good indicator of market conditions and can predict the impact of trends and supply chain disruptions in advance. With the development of electronic component distribution channels, first-tier Oems and CM companies are developing strategies to balance the supply chain based on the open market and different types of distributors. Usage of non-automotive components remains below normal at around 70% for most IDM manufacturers, but excess inventory continues unabated at all levels of the supply chain. At least 19,000 trucks carrying $1.9 billion worth of goods have been held up at the Mexican border, delaying production and deliveries by several automakers. In the most recent month, the number of passive component shortages was slightly more than in previous months, but the number of shortages was significantly reduced.
